About Skip Elmore

Throughout his many years of pastoring, Skip has demonstrated his passion
for motivating folks of all ages to progress from a “maintenance and survival
existence” to the revelation of new passions, purposes, directions and visions.
This exciting and sometimes completely life-changing discovery allows new spiritual adventures to unfold. His one-on-one motivation sessions have been described as “electric” as he pursues the elimination of childhood fears and intimidation. Doors open for believers to begin the development and transformation from feelings of insecurity into a healthy view of self-worth that allows a full measure of God’s grace to unfold.
Skip became a pastor later in life, after a successful technical career in mechanical engineering and business. He first served in a corporate structure, moving up into management and then as an entrepreneur. Skip, his wife, Sally, and their three children (Lisa, Timothy and Lynda) were all very active in the church. All three children are married and raising Christian families.
Skip has always been interested in automobiles—all kinds, including antiques and classics. Even now, in later life, he drives a sports car to the office and owns a forty-two-year-old pickup truck which he takes to car shows.
Skip and his late wife, Sally, first joined Skyline Church in 1979 where he served as a lay member on the Local Board of Administration for several years. He also served on the Pacific Southwest District Board for the Wesleyan Denomination for thirty years.
It was after two early retirements that Skip experienced the call into pastoral ministry. His first ministerial position was as executive pastor at Magnolia Wesleyan Church in Santee, California where he served for four years. He then returned to his home church, Skyline, early in 2001, as Mentoring, Discipleship and Health-Connect Group Pastor. Detailed descriptions, times and locations for each Health-Connect Group is obtainable on the Skyline website.
Early in 2004 he and another very successful Skyline Church business man launched a unique Sunday School class called “Entrepreneuring For Christ,” targeted toward any one interested in entering the business world, or who just want to fellowship with “doers and shakers.”
